Fresh Spring Ideas to Welcome the New Season

Fresh Spring Ideas to Welcome the New Season

Spring is here and if you're like us, you get excited about seasonal changes and what they bring to life: a different rhythm, new moments to look forward to, new fresh produce that will influence our menus and a few aesthetic changes around the house.

Bring the outside in with flowering branches

Spring is the time for flowering branches. Nature is waking up! They make an easy, do-it-yourself and inexpensive arrangement that will transform a room instantly. Multiple choices are available: forsythia, apple blossom, quince, cherry blossom or even magnolia blossoms.

Branches can be foraged, cut from your backyard or sometimes found at the grocery store (Trader Joe's has some nice branches from time to time). For more variety and larger amounts, my go to floral wholesaler in the area is McCallum Sauber

Be sure to use a large vase to withstand the height of the branches. The base of the branches should be cut diagonally and either smashed with a hammer or cut out with an "x" shape at the bottom so water is absorbed properly. Our ceramic large vase is perfect for this and will pair with any interior color palette.

Enjoy cooking with bright fresh herbs

These spring herbs will renew your favorite dishes with a fresh spin.

  • Chive: mix with butter or cream cheese, sprinkle on baked potatoes.
  • Tarragon: make a real Béarnaise sauce, or add to an omelet.
  • Mint: snip and muddle then top with boiling water to make a luxurious mint tea.
  • Cilantro: always great in guacamole, or mix with lime to create a lime-cilantro butter to brush on grilled chicken or seafood.

Use lighter fabrics

With warmer and brighter days, tuck away the heavier fabrics. From bedding to tabletop, switch to textiles that are light and bright. Our 100% linen collection will look effortlessly chic on your table and comes in white and natural color complete with runners, cocktail and dinner napkins.

Add a burst of color with these taper candles

Your table or mantle will exude spring cheer with these 10" taper candles in soft pastel hues. Pair with our ceramic taper holders and voila!

Plant a seed

Last but not least, spring is the time for planting. We love seed paper postcards that can be planted outdoors or indoors in planter. These are pretty and functional at the same time and can be found here in the shop.
